Building on the success of Nebular Summit’s virtual kickoff, we’ve been eager to collaborate with more event organizers to expand their in-person gatherings.
With Cosmoverse 2024 set to take place in Dubai, we had been brainstorming ways to bring a virtual component to this year’s event with the Cryptocito team.
Securing a grant from AADAO to expand ATOM use cases in the metaverse provided the perfect opportunity to bring these ideas to fruition. Our goal was simple: Make the largest Cosmos event of the year accessible to everyone, whether or not they were able to make the trip to Dubai.
Bringing ATOM into the Metaverse
We are thrilled to receive a grant from AADAO to supercharge ATOM use cases in the metaverse.
ATOM Accelerator is a governance-mandated DAO tasked with driving value to the Cosmos Hub. Its mission is to accelerate the adoption and development of the Cosmos Hub by supporting projects that enhance the ecosystem’s infrastructure, technology, and community.
As our first milestone toward the grant, we were excited to collaborate with AADAO to host a series of virtual side events in Passage during Cosmoverse.
Taking place in the ATOM Oasis, a custom 3D world built in Unreal Engine, the talks featured a variety of projects and speakers across Cosmos, including:

- Defi Sustainability • Astrovault
- Native Staking Optimization • Polli.co
- Onboarding Artists to Defi • Crypto Canvas Chronicles
- Cosmoverse Update & State of the Market • Cosmos Spaces
- HUAHUA Ecosystem Updates • Chihuahua Chain & AAA Metahuahua
Attendees were able to join the immersive world right from their browser with just one click, which screensharing and media playback allowed speakers to share video content and other materials.
Each event was livestreamed, garnering thousands of views across social media with plenty of shareable images and clips to follow.

Beyond Cosmoverse, we will be working toward the following milestones supported by AADAO’s grant:
- Enabling IBC ATOM payments on the Passage Marketplace, allowing users to mint and trade assets in ATOM. This milestone is underway via our open-source community!
- Launching a collection of NFT avatar customizations, which will be available to purchase in ATOM and can be used in the Passage platform. Funds from the mint will be cycled back into education and communication activities for the Cosmos Community Hub.
- Continue building the Cosmos Community Hub, a virtual world dedicated to education and engagement in the Cosmos ecosystem.
We look forward to collaborating with AADAO and our community to bolster ATOM adoption within and beyond the Passage ecosystem!
Transforming In-Person Events
Looking ahead to 2025, bringing Passage to IRL events is a core objective for our team.
We believe Passage experiences serve as a perfect complement to in-person events—enhancing, but not replacing the organic, human element of real life gatherings.
By leveraging a virtual platform like Passage, organizers can capture a broader audience regardless of geographical constraints, create new sponsorship opportunities, open the door for new speakers, and host interactive side events—all at a fraction of the cost of hosting in person.
